"He will but not today," answers Beric, miraculously alive. Bran's commitment to find the three-eyed raven is affirmed. The act is punishable by death, Joffrey tells her: "You'll never do it again."

Later, at Littlefinger's brothel in King's Landing, some gold cloaks force their way into the room and rip a baby from the arms of its mother. She has been a bystander to tragedy since Ned's execution, he says. The garrison commander spits at the idea, but his troops turn on their leader and accept the offer, anxious to escape with their lives. Queen Cersei and Lady Olenna Tyrell tour the Sept of the Baelor, where Joffrey and Margaery will marry. After everyone leaves, a boy mopping the floors tells Theon that he has been sent by his sister Yara. Margaery secretly presses a note into her grandmother's hand, and stresses, "You must." In Tyrion Lannister's chamber at King's Landing, he tells his consort Shae that her presence must remain a secret. His brother, Sandor Clegane, or "The Hound," is one of the series most loved characters -- a foul-mouthed renegade with questionable morals and a unquestionable sense of humor. Afterwards, Tyrion admits to freeing Jaime, and removes his Hand of the Queen pin, tossing it to the ground. As he speaks, he notices Jon eyeing a nearby knife and realizes that Jon's true mission is to kill him. He tells the Archmaester he believes he's found a way to treat greyscale in a study of rare diseases. Returning to the building site, he finds the slain bodies of the villagers and Ray hanging from the sept's unfinished rafters. The Red priestess assures Selyse that Stannis' infidelity has nothing to do with his marriage: "It's only flesh," she soothes. Unfortunately, House Seaworth is yet another house that may have its line ended before the series is over. "How many tens of thousands had to die because Rhaegar chose your aunt?" Littlefinger muses.

Littlefinger reveals that he's headed for King's Landing to meet Cersei. At Dany's command, the barrels are fired over the city walls and smash open, revealing thousands of slave collars.
